Guadix
The bustling country town of Guadix is located 60 km East of Granada on the plateau of Hoya. Guadix has a population of 20,000 people and is famous for its cave homes which were dug in the soft loess soil a long time ago. The town was populated by Romans, Moorish and Christians over time. Many cave homes can be found in "Barrio de las Cuevas" and some of are open to the public. Guadix is also famous for its cathedral. Visitors can enjoy impressive landscapes on trips to the surrounding area.
